We are always delighted to answer any questions you may have, however, the most frequently asked questions about the Alton Towers award winning Conference Centre, 2 themed Hotels, Water Park, Spa and Theme Park can be found on the following two pages.

  • Conference Centre & Hotels
    • Are Theme Park tickets included in the price of a meeting or conference?

      Tickets to the Alton Towers Theme Park are included in the cost of our Premium residential delegate and day delegate packages. Access to the Cariba Creek Waterpark is also included.

    • Are there any hidden extras I need to know about?

      An event manager, waiting staff and all furniture requirements for seated events for up to 500 guests are included within the hire of all our venues within the Alton Towers Conference Centre and Hotel. Background music, lighting and our PA system are also provided free of charge and we have on site audio-visual technicians should you need any assistance. Conferences in the Stateroom and Emperor's Suite include a stage, lectern, PA system, microphone and technician within the conference package. If any additional audio-visual equipment is required Alton Towers charge below industry rates.

    • Are we able to bring along our own beverages to your venue?

      We have a number of different drinks packages available and feel sure we have one that fits your budget. Please ask the events team for more information.

    • Can I book both your hotels for the exclusive use of my company?

      Both our Hotels and Conference Centre are available for hire on an exclusive basis offering a unique venue to stage an event. This is a popular choice for companies who wish to make use of all the available space within the hotel complex and take advantage of all 391 bedrooms. Please contact the events team for full details.

    • Can I hire any of the Theme Park rides exclusively as part of my conference?

      Rides (subject to availability) can be hired for the exclusive use of clients during the evening, after the Theme Park is closed to the public, for 1 or more hours. Please ask the events team for more details.

    • Can my delegates use your Spa during an event at Alton Towers?

      Our Spa conference packages are designed to help your delegates stimulate the mind and energise the body during their stay. A range of packages are available which include exclusive use of the Aqua Relaxation Rooms for one hour, followed by a half hour massage or facial. Alternatively, book our therapists to give 15 minute treatments such as shoulder massages or even fitness demonstrations during breaks.     • Can we use our own caterers?

      We do not allow caterers at Alton Towers. However, our own in-house chefs have an excellent track record in delivering excellent food and service for as many as 3,000 guests and our menus offer a huge choice of delicious dishes at highly competitive prices.

    • Can you arrange for internet connection to be available for my meeting?

      Complimentary high speed wireless internet access is available throughout the Conference Centre and both Hotels. The Stateroom located within the Alton Towers Conference Centre has 3 ISDN points, and most of our Syndicate Rooms also have ISDN points. Please ask our events team for full details.

    • How many bedrooms do you have at Alton Towers?

      The Alton Towers Hotel has 165 rooms, plus 4 themed rooms and 6 specially themed suites perfect for VIP's or event organisers, and the Splash Landings Hotel has 216 rooms. The total number of room available is 391 and all rooms are available for single or double occupancy.

    • I am organising an outing for my colleagues and want to offer something special but I don't need a venue or caterer. Can you help?

      We can offer you Theme Park tickets and Magic Money (vouchers), which can be redeemed at Alton Towers Theme Park restaurants, bars and shops. These provide the most convenient way to buy your guests lunch and offer the perfect alternative to hiring a venue.

    • I am planning a company away day for 200 delegates and will need space for an informal meeting in the morning followed by lunch and then free time in the Theme Park and possibly something in the evening too. What do you suggest?
      The Alton Towers Resort is perfect for company away days. You can use the Emperor's Suite in the Alton Towers Hotel with enough room to accommodate 200 delegates theatre style, have lunch in the Secret Garden Restaurant and then after lunch take the monorail to the Theme Park. In the evening you could enjoy one of our ghost tours followed by dinner in the Alton Towers Conference Centre. Alternatively you could hire Rita - Queen of Speed or another ride for an hour of exclusive fun (subject to availability) followed by a barbecue in the Corporate Hospitality Suite within the Theme Park.     • I am planning a company away day for 28 delegates which is below your minimum number of 35 in the Theme Park. Can you help?

      Although our minimum number for an event in the Theme Park is 35 delegates, we can offer you one of our syndicate rooms within the Alton Towers Conference Centre for an informal meeting for as few as 16 delegates. If you have 28 delegates we can accommodate them boardroom style using 2 of our syndicate rooms. Hire of a meeting room is included in our premium day delegate package together with parking at the hotel, 3 servings of refreshments, lunch in the Secret Garden Restaurant within the Alton Towers Hotel and entrance to the Theme Park.

    • I am planning a corporate family fun day. Can the Alton Towers accommodate this?

      The Alton Towers Resort is ideal for corporate family fun days and is bursting with an awesome choice of rides and attractions with something to suit all ages. The Corporate Hospitality Suite within the Alton Towers Theme Park can hold up to 900 guests on a rolling basis and our Towers Suite can hold up to 384 guests on a rolling basis. These two venues are based in the Theme Park and can be used together offering a combined capacity of 1,284. If you would like all your guests in one venue we can offer you a marquee on the front lawns of Alton Towers.     • I would like to book a DJ for my event and a tribute band for dancing after dinner. Do you have any restrictions with regards to entertainment?

      We would ask that all entertainment is booked through our events team using our list of nominated suppliers. In some circumstances we do allow companies to bring their own entertainment. In this instance we would require suppliers to complete all necessary health and safety paperwork before being allowed on site.

    • I would like to host a party with a difference. Have you any ideas?

      Cariba Creek is our Caribbean lagoon-style Waterpark and is perfect for exotic beach parties during the evening where the climate is always tropical, no matter what the weather's like outside! Enjoy cocktails and dancing and perhaps a paddle in our shallow pool. To ensure the safety of our guests we do not allow access to our main pool during beach parties.     • I'm looking for a venue to host a two day conference with different entertainment on each night. Can you accommodate this and suggest entertainment options?

      The Alton Towers Resort has hosted many two and three day conferences where both hotels can be hired with exclusive use if required which allows use of all 391 hotel rooms for your delegates. We could host a beach party in our tropical all weather Waterpark followed by a themed dinner in the Stateroom followed by a casino on the first night and suggest exclusive use of one of our most popular rides for an hour followed by a barbecue in the Theme Park on the second night.

    • I'm looking for an unusual team building activity. Can you suggest some ideas?

      Waterpark
      Our Waterpark is a great venue for water based team building and is available from 6.30pm onwards with the space to accommodate from 100-400 delegates. Click here for more information.

      Theme Park - The Alton Towers Challenge
      The Alton Towers challenge is a unique team building activity which incorporates physical and mental challenges and involves delegates enjoying the rides and attractions throughout the Theme Park it is the perfect team building activity for large and small numbers and can be tailor made to your exact requirements. Please ask the events team for more details.

      Laser shooting
      Our laser shooting is great fun and always brings out the competitive edge. It is ideal for groups of 50 with a set lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Please ask the events team for more information.

      All other team building
      All other team building takes place on our green field adjacent to the Alton Towers Hotel and is are organised by one of our nominated team building suppliers who can host activities from a light-hearted treasure hunt, to a carefully monitored and debriefed training game.

    • Is entrance to the Water Park included in the price of a meeting or conference?

      Entrance to the Cariba Creek Water Park is included in the cost of our Premium residential delegate and day delegate packages . Access to the Theme Park is also included.

    • Is entrance to your adventure golf course included in the cost of a conference package?

      Entrance to our Extraordinary Golf course is not included in the cost of any of our packages at Alton Towers. However we offer preferential rates for our corporate guests.

    • Is there an ATM machine in either of the Hotels?

      Yes we have an ATM in the receptions of both the Alton Towers Hotel and Splash Landings Hotel. A small charge is made for this service. You will find a further 3 in the Theme Park as you enter the park which allow you to withdraw money free of charge.

    • Most venues we use for our events are non smoking. Do you allow smoking at your venues?

      Due to new legislation smoking is not allowed in either of our Hotels. Guests wishing to smoke must use dedicated smoking areas located outside the Hotel reception areas and in the courtyard adjacent to Ma Garrita's Bar in the Splash Landings Hotel.

    • What are the capacities for conferences in your largest room?

      The Stateroom within the Alton Towers Hotel can accommodate the following capacities:
      500+ theatre style
      240 classroom style and 320 cabaret style
      700 using tiered seating

    • What facilities are there for guests with disabilities?

    • What happens if I lose and item of property at the Theme Park or Hotels?

      Alton Towers go to great lengths to reunite items of lost property with their rightful owners. Found items are either taken to Guest Services in the Theme Park or to the Alton Towers Hotel reception. If you think you might have lost an item on-site please complete the form on this page or contact your event manager.

    • What time do we have to finish our evening party or dinner dance?

      We have an entertainment and liquor licence until 1.30am for evening events. However, guests staying in either of our Hotels can enjoy drinks at Ma Garrita's Bar in the Splash Landings Hotel until very late.

  • Theme Park
    • Are there any hidden extras I need to know about?

      An event manager, waiting staff and all furniture requirements for seated events for up to 300 guests are included within the hire of our Theme Park venues. Background music, lighting and our PA system are also provided free of charge. For any additional A/V equipment we charge below industry rates.

    • Are there ATM machines on the Theme Park?

      Yes we have 3 ATM's situated at the top of Towers Street just on the left as you enter the Park.

    • Are we able to bring along our own beverages to your venue?

      We have a number of different drinks packages available and feel sure we have one that fits your budget. Please ask the events team for more information.

    • Can I hire any of the Theme Park rides exclusively?

      Rides (subject to availability) can be hired for the exclusive use of clients during the evening after the Theme Park is closed to the public for 1 or more hours. Please contact the events team for more infomation.

    • Can I hire pushchairs?

      Yes, strollers can be hired from Guest Services, located at the top of Towers Street. A £20 refundable deposit is required per stroller and a daily charge of £5.00 / £8.50 per single / double stroller. All prices are subject to change.

    • Can we use our own caterers?

      We do not allow caterers at Alton Towers. However, our own in-house chefs have an excellent track record in delivering excellent food and service for as many as 3,000 guests and our menus offer a huge choice of delicious dishes at highly competitive prices.

    • Can you arrange for internet connection to be available for my meeting in the theme park?

      The Towers room within the Towers Suite is fitted with wireless connection allowing high speed internet access for any number of users subject to avaliability. Please ask the event team for more information.

    • How early can we access the venue and what time do we need to finish?

      We have an entertainment and liquor licence until midnight for evening events in our Theme Park venues. However, corporate family fun days, company away days and team build days within the Theme Park generally commence at 9.30am and end at 5.00pm.

    • I am organising a corporate family fun day and have children of different ages attending. Can you tell me what rides would be suitable?

      The best way of selecting the rides is to ask your guests to visit the Alton Towers Resort web site before the event and click on 'Your experience'

    • I am organising an outing for my colleagues and want to offer something special but I don't need a venue or caterer. Can you help?

      We can offer you Theme Park tickets and Magic Money (gift vouchers) which can be redeemed at Alton Towers Theme Park restaurants, bars and shops. This provides the most convenient way to buy your guests lunch and offers the perfect alternative to hiring a venue.

      Even on peak days the queues aren't too long. The Alton Towers Resort is committed to reducing queue times and has invested in initiatives such as increasing rider capacity and introducing new rides and attractions.       There are six award winning baby-care areas located within the toilets around the Theme Park, please refer to our park map.

      Due to new legislation smoking is not allowed in any of our venues. Guests wishing to smoke must use dedicated smoking areas in the Theme Park. If you are using the Corporate Hospitality Suite guests can use the private patio area.

    • What additional entertainment can I offer my guests to enhance our corporate family fun day?

      For companies using one of our venues for a corporate family fun day, our most popular entertainment options include magicians, face painters and storytellers as well as organised craft activities and fun workshops. We can also provide you with roaming photographers who will either print your pictures within an hour or post to you on a CD to your office after an event.     • What facilities are there for guests with disabilities?

    • What first aid facilities are available at the Alton Towers Resort?

      Our well equipped First Aid Centre is run by qualified staff and is located at the bottom of Towers Street between Towers Family Restaurant and the Skyride station. Many of our team members across the Theme Park are also first aid trained and all restaurants and rides carry a first aid kit.

    • What time does the Theme Park open / close?
